Shaki MUKIZA is the Policy and Advocacy Officer at CERTA Foundation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB)(Hons) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Kenya. Before joining the Foundation, she worked at Certa Law Chambers as a Legal Officer for over two years, where she contributed to cases ranging from Family Law to Corporate Law through analysing and drafting legal documents. Prior to that, Shaki undertook an internship program at the East Africa Law Society (EALS) in Arusha, Tanzania for a period from which she gained a wide knowledge of common Law and an understanding of Laws within the region. She has a passion for Human Rights with a particular interest in Rights of the Child, Women’s sexual and reproductive health rights as well as Family Law. Besides that, she has a keen interest in Criminology & Forensics among other interests. She speaks Kinyarwanda, English and Kiswahili.
