As we reflect on the impactful initiatives undertaken by Center for justice and advocacy pro bono lawyers throughout March 2024, we are proud to share the highlights of our efforts in combating sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) across various districts of our intervention in Rwanda.

Musanze District: Campaign Against Sexual-Based Violence at Busogo Vocational Training Center (VTC) Saint Martin

We are delighted to share a recent initiative led by our Musanze based pro bono lawyer, Ms. Geraldine Ntihanabayo, who in collaboration with the head of Good Governance at Musanze District spearheaded a campaign against sexual-based violence at the Busogo Vocational Training Center (VTC)Saint Martin.

The campaign's focus was on educating and empowering teenagers, particularly teen mothers, with knowledge about the legal framework surrounding sexual-based violence. By emphasizing this understanding, the initiative aimed to provide crucial support to vulnerable individuals and promote a safer environment at the center.

The holistic approach of the campaign received appreciationfrom the school management, who recognized the importance of integrating training on gender-based violence and legal aid services alongside vocational training. This acknowledgment underscores the need for comprehensive support systems to address the complex challenges faced by young people.

We are grateful for the efforts and commitment by Musanze District and our pro bono Lawyer to making a positive difference in the lives of those affected by sexual-based violence.
