Café Juridique: Inspire Inclusion- Insights
International Women's Day 2024 was a momentous occasion, celebrating women's achievements and calling for global action towards gender equality. On March 8, 2024, Certa Foundation organized the 33rd bi-monthly Cafe Juridique, hosted by the Center for Justice and Advocacy, with a special focus on promoting inclusion, particularly for women. The theme of the event was "Inspire Inclusion - Strategies for Advancing Diversity and Inclusion."
The Cafe Juridique featured two distinguished panelists who shared their insights and experiences. Paulette Mpano, Director for People and Culture at Irembo, emphasized the importance of women networking, mentoring each other, and challenging stereotypes to excel in various roles, including leadership and caregiving. She also discussed the Tuza project at Irembo, which supports women during maternity and beyond.
Justice Umugwaneza Geraldine, a judge at the Court of Appeal in Rwanda, encouraged young women to be change agents, strive for excellence, and compete for positions based on merit. She highlighted the ongoing challenge of achieving true equality in decision-making processes.
