Call for Submissions, ADR Journal
In September, the Center for Law and Innovation (CLI) made a significant stride in advancing the discourse on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) by launching a call for submissions for its inaugural ADR Journal. This initiative provides a comprehensive platform for scholars, practitioners, and experts in ADR to contribute their knowledge, research, and innovative practices. The journal's mission is to emphasize ADR's critical role in fostering peaceful, just, and inclusive societies—an objective that aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 16, which promotes peace, justice, and strong institutions.
The call for submissions is broad, inviting diverse contributions from both within Rwanda and across Africa. The journal aims to showcase practical experiences, emerging trends, and academic insights on how ADR mechanisms can effectively resolve disputes in various sectors, including commercial, labor, family, and community conflicts. In a world where litigation often leads to prolonged and costly legal battles, ADR offers a more amicable, efficient, and collaborative approach to dispute resolution. The journal will also explore the integration of ADR with modern legal frameworks and its adaptability to the evolving challenges in contemporary societies, such as those related to technology and social media disputes.
The Center for Law and Innovation seeks to elevate Rwanda's position as a leader in ADR practices while contributing to global conversations on justice reform and conflict resolution by offering this platform. The ADR Journal will serve as a repository of knowledge and a catalyst for promoting ADR innovations that can be replicated across various legal systems. In doing so, it fosters a more inclusive approach to justice that prioritizes dialogue, reconciliation, and community-centered solutions over adversarial legal proceedings.
