The Center for Law and Innovation is proud to have contributed to the first-ever International AI Safety Report, a landmark initiative backed by 30 countries, the OECD, the UN, and the EU. This comprehensive report summarizes the state of the science on AI capabilities, risks, and mitigation strategies, offering policymakers an evidence-based, balanced perspective on AI governance.

This large-scale effort brought together 100 independent AI experts, including Nobel laureates and Turing Award winners, representing diverse viewpoints within the AI community. Despite differing perspectives, all contributors collaborated to produce an authoritative document on AI risks and the necessary safeguards. One of the report’s key conclusions is the uncertainty surrounding the short-term future of general-purpose AI—both highly positive and highly negative outcomes remain possible. The way societies and governments act now will play a critical role in shaping AI’s trajectory.

We look forward to engaging in upcoming discussions, particularly at the AI Action Summit in Paris on February 10-11, where these insights will help shape global AI policy and governance strategies. As we move forward, we remain committed to shaping discussions on AI policy, supporting the growth of innovative startups, and fostering professional development in the legal and tech ecosystem.
