Empowering Women and Teen Mothers with Disabilities: The Tinyuka Power Up Project
The Center for Justice and advocacy is currently implementing the Tinyuka Power Up Project, a project with the main aim of providing free legal aid services and legal representation to women and girls with disabilities in Muhoza and Cyuve sectors of Musanze District who are victims of sexual gender based violence. Beyond legal assistance, the project forms cooperative groups to uplift the livelihoods of these rights holders, enabling them to lead dignified lives and make informed decisions for their futures.
This initiative that is specifically tailored to support women and teen mothers with disabilities, acknowledges and addresses the unique challenges they encounter. Currently, the project is actively supporting 120 women and teen mothers with disabilities, offering various pro bono legal aid services and equipping them with skills in income-generating project design and implementation. The Center for Justice and advocacy takes pride in spearheading efforts to cater to the specific needs of these vulnerable groups by placing a premium on their rights and providing customized assistance, we endeavor to enhance their safety, autonomy, and overall well-being.
Aligned with Rwanda's unwavering commitment to sustainable development goals, this project underscores our Country’s dedication to inclusivity and equality for all. Through collaborative efforts, we aspire to pave the way for a future where women and teen mothers with disabilities in Rwanda are empowered and enjoy equitable opportunities.
