End of JCTP Fellowship Cohort 2
Certa Foundation is proud to celebrate the successful internship completion of Cohort II of the Judicial Clerkship Training Program (JCTP). This six-month internship placement has equipped our JCTP Cohort fellows with hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and a solid foundation in legal research, case management, ethics, and practical skills, fostering a new generation of legal professionals committed to justice.
Throughout the program, Cohort II fellows engaged directly with Rwanda’s judiciary, gaining invaluable experience in legal research, case analysis, and courtroom procedures. Fellows were strategically placed across institutions, with fifteen (15) at the Supreme Court of Rwanda, ten (10) at the High Court, two (2) at the Ministry of Justice, one (1) at the Rwanda Bar Association. This distribution provided a broad spectrum of real-world settings where they could apply theoretical knowledge while contributing meaningfully to judicial processes. The program included specialized training sessions and workshops on critical judicial skills, complemented by insights from experienced mentors who provided guidance and support throughout their placements.
In addition to their practical duties, fellows contributed to significant projects that address pressing issues within Rwanda’s legal landscape, including promoting access to justice, reducing case backlogs and enhancing institutional transparency. These experiences allowed fellows to develop a broader perspective on Rwanda’s evolving judicial system and a stronger commitment to legal integrity and public service.
As Cohort II concludes, we celebrate the fellows’ accomplishments, resilience, and dedication to upholding justice. With their skills and experience, they are well-prepared to contribute positively to the legal profession in Rwanda. We extend our deepest gratitude to our partners and mentors, whose hard work has made this cohort successful. As they progress in their careers, we look forward to seeing their impact on Rwanda’s justice system and remain committed to supporting the next cohort of the Judicial Clerkship Training Program.
