On January 23, 2025, Certa Foundation, through its Center for Justice and Advocacy (CJA), conducted an IECMS training for staff and pro bono lawyers at its headquarters. Led by Me. Bagirishya Vedaste, the session aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills to efficiently navigate the updated Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS), ensuring improved access to justice and streamlined case management.

The training covered key system updates, including expanded case management from investigation to execution, digital document submission, and case tracking. Participants learned to create and manage accounts, file civil and criminal cases, and transition cases through different judicial phases. A new feature preventing duplicate registrations was also highlighted, enhancing efficiency in legal proceedings.

Ms. Lydia Taima, CJA’s Director, emphasized the importance of continuous learning, urging participants to practice and refine their skills. Me. Vedaste reassured them that the updates simplify legal work rather than complicate it, optimizing workflow and reducing delays. Through interactive discussions and hands-on exercises, participants engaged with real-time case simulations, reinforcing their understanding of the platform.

By integrating technology into legal practice, CJA strengthens its commitment to providing high-quality legal aid to vulnerable communities. This training ensures that CJA’s team remains at the forefront of digital transformation in Rwanda’s justice system, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accessibility for those seeking legal support.
