On June 4th, 2024,  Certa Foundation conducted an awareness campaign on Sexual Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) at Kinyinya RIB station . The foundation seized the opportunity to educate personnel on the importance of addressing SGBV in their daily livelihood 

The awareness session was led by Certa Foundation's pro bono lawyers Me. Mary Katushabe  on equipping RIB investigators and victims  with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify, report, and respond to SGBV cases effectively. The training  covered topics such as the legal framework surrounding SGBV, the available support services for victims, and the crucial role of law enforcement in ensuring justice and protection for survivors.

"By partnering with institutions like RIB, we aim to create a strong network of support for victims of SGBV," said Me. Katushabe Marry, Certa Foundation's pro bono lawyer in Gasabo District. "Our goal is to empower law enforcement personnel with the knowledge and resources they need to be at the forefront of the fight against sexual gender-based violence."

The awareness campaigns at Kinyinya RIB station will be part of Certa Foundation's ongoing efforts to strengthen access to justice and promote the well-being of women and children in the community. Through collaborative partnerships and targeted interventions, the organization will continue to make a significant impact in addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by SGBV survivors.

The success of these awareness campaigns will emphasize the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in combating SGBV. By working closely with law enforcement agencies and other key partners, Certa Foundation remains committed to creating a safer and more supportive environment for all individuals, particularly those who are most vulnerable to Sexual gender-based violence.
