We are delighted to graduate3 Junior Fellows who joined the CLI team in October 2023. They have completed their Fellowship requirements, including submission of their personal articles which will be made available on the CLI social media pages. Here are some of their thoughts on the Fellowship:

 KABATSI Arnold

The Center for Law and Innovation has the unique ability to make a 6-month fellowship equate to 2years of experience elsewhere. I wrung every opportunity I came across, extracting the best out of every assignment, meeting, and interaction for my betterment. Coming in, my only specialty was employment law; my legal expertise has since broadened to encompass data protection law, intellectual property, corporate transactions, and the growing field of Artificial Intelligence. While I have yet to clock the 10,000 hours required to be an expert in these areas, this fellowship has set me on the path and revealed my capabilities and passions; all while giving me tangible work experience and a professional network. I am grateful and in awe of the growth that being a fellow at Certa Foundation has afforded me.

 KWIZERA Elvis

During my fellowship at the Center for Law and Innovation (CLI), I experienced significant personal and professional growth. The program challenged me to excel, enhancing my public speaking, legal research, and writing skills. As a young lawyer, I was able to establish valuable connections, meeting individuals and reaching places beyond my expectations. I also discovered my potential for leadership and learned to embrace the accountability that comes with it. I am deeply grateful to CLI and Certa Foundation as a whole for this opportunity.

My journey at Certa Foundation's Center for Law and Innovation was truly transformative. Through the research training and other capacity-building sessions, I not only expanded my research capabilities but also discovered a newfound confidence in writing and presenting my research findings. Moreover, it was a life-changing empowerment journey. It provided invaluable mentorship and exposure to individuals from varied backgrounds, empowering me to emerge as a confident researcher, presenter, moderator but also a leader! I am thankful!
