Kirehe District
On 30th April 2024, In Kirehe District Certa Foundation launched its operations publicly, specifically Access to justice services delivered to Sexual gender-based violence’s victims. Normally CERTA foundation offered its services in 6 districts, and 30th April Certa Foundation expanded its activities with the aim of facilitate citizen from Kirehe District to benefit from free lagal services offered to its right-holders.
Me Benon Tashobya (Access to Justice Coordinator), introduced Certa Foundation and explained Certa foundation’s mission; which is providing access to quality and equitable justice to vulnerable groups and build the knowledge and capacity of justice. He highlighted that Certa Foundation through its center (Center for Justice and advocacy); pro-bono lawyers provide free legal services to SGBV Victims. Among these services we can say advocate for the people who faced Rape, Child defilement and child rights protection when it comes to advocate for paternity search and alimony for the children who were born from these tragedies. Certa Foundation also participate in GBV Prevention through community awareness campaigns and participate in women and girls economic empowerment.
