On May 15th, the Association for the Promotion of Self-Development in Africa (APAD IN AFRICA)organized a pivotal training session for 40 teen mothers in Kigina Sector, Kirehe District. This event featured our pro bono lawyer, Mr. Vianney Banguwiha, as a special guest speaker from the Certa Foundation.

The training began with an inspiring introduction by Vianney Banguwiha, who outlined Certa Foundation's mission and its unwavering commitment to addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Banguwiha highlighted the critical importance of understanding and protecting the rights of teen mothers, who frequently face unique challenges within their communities.

Throughout the session, Banguwiha facilitated open discussions with the teen mothers, allowing them to share their personal experiences and the barriers they encounter in accessing justice support and resources. The participants voiced their concerns about their legal rights, access to education, and social integration, fostering meaningful dialogue about their needs and aspirations.

In response to the expressed needs, Certa Foundation pledged to provide ongoing support and legal assistance to the teen mothers in Kirehe District. The organization is committed to working closely with APAD IN AFRICA to ensure that these young women have their rights protected and access the necessary resources to thrive.

This collaborative effort marks a significant step towards empowering teen mothers in Kirehe District, demonstrating the impact of community partnerships in creating a more supportive and equitable environment for all.
