Leveraging Technology to Address Prison Overpopulation in Rwanda
This article explores the pressing issue of prison overpopulation, a challenge that many countries, including Rwanda, are grappling with. We explore the transformative potential of technology as a tool to alleviate this problem and reform the criminal justice system. The article begins by examining the current state of Rwanda’s detention facilities and the factors contributing to their overcrowding and then discusses various technological interventions that could be employed to address this issue. In addition to these discussions, the article provides a comparative analysis of how other countries are successfully using technology to reform their criminal justice systems. This comparative perspective offers valuable insights that Rwanda could draw upon in its own reform efforts. The article concludes with a discussion of the broader implications of these technological interventions for justice reform.
