On June 18th, 2024, Certa Foundation's pro bono lawyer in Nyagatare District, Ms. Mukamasabo Gloriose, participated in a community awareness event known as "Inteko z'abaturage" combined with the International Day of the African Child. The campaign was held in the Karama sector in Ndego cell and was attended by approximately 700 people.

During the campaign, Ms. Mukamasabo Gloriose gave a presentation on the laws protecting children and combating gender-based violence against children. She highlighted the critical importance of understanding and addressing these issues, particularly the detrimental effects of gender-based violence on children.

Gloriose's discourse delved into the legal complexity surrounding child protection laws and policies, emphasizing the urgent need to safeguard children from harm. By engaging the audience in a thoughtful discussion, she aimed to empower individuals to identify, report, and prevent instances of violence and abuse against children.

This campaign marks a significant stride towards creating a more informed and vigilant community in Nyagatare District, dedicated to upholding the rights and dignity of children. Certa Foundation's continued efforts to raise awareness and advocate for child protection are crucial in fostering a safer and more supportive environment for the youth of Rwanda.
