On June 19th, 2024, Certa Foundation's pro bono lawyer in Rwamagana district, Ms. Nyirahabimana Martine, had the privilege of attending the celebration of the Day of the African Child in Rwamagana District's Akagarama cell and Musha sector. The event's theme was "Education for All; This is the Time ''.

The celebration highlighted the importance of education for all children, particularly in addressing the challenges of sexual violence and teenage pregnancy - two key factors contributing to school dropouts. 

During the event, Ms. Nyirahabimana Martine engaged with community members, local leaders, and other stakeholders to discuss the critical role of education in empowering and protecting children. She emphasized Certa Foundation's commitment to ensuring that all children, regardless of their circumstances, have access to quality education and a safe environment to thrive.

Through the Center for Justice and Advocacy, Certa Foundation has been actively working to combat sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in the Rwamagana district. The organization's pro bono legal services have provided crucial support to victims, including teen mothers, in navigating the complex legal landscape and accessing the resources they need to overcome the challenges they face. 

The Day of the African Child celebration in Rwamagana district was a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives and the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the multifaceted issues affecting children. Certa Foundation's participation underscored its dedication to promoting the well-being and rights of children, and its unwavering commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
